Partners, friends and guests of Villa Liubimets Winery gathered for the traditional Bulgarian ritual “vine's trimming” February 17.

The wine admirers wished the winery abundant harvest and a successful year. With good spirits and lively Bulgarian songs the day turned into a real celebration of wine At 20 of April 2006 the sommelier of Bulgarian Wine Society Mr. Taniu Shishkov had win the prestigious award "Sommelier of the year".


A feast of Dionysus became the event “Vinaria 2006.” Participants were 517 exhibitors from 34 countries from around the world. The wine fest in Polvdiv gathered experts in production, sommeliers and connoisseurs.


Curious visitors, willing to learn more about quality wine, were sweeping by the dozens of stands with such enthusiasm many experts could’ve envied. We, the Bulgarian Wine Society did not miss the event either. Even though we’ve existed only a month, we succeeded in attracting dozens of Bulgarian, Spanish and Italian cellars. More than 60 were interested and rushed to reserve a date for a tasting session, to present their best wines. During the firs week the admirers will be able to learn more about the bottles offered by Vinprom Rousse, the winery labeled “Eduardo Marolio” , Vini – Sliven, the Tera Tangra cellar, the label Todoroff and more. Most of the wines we are going to offer you won medals at the “Vinaria.” The designation of our wine tasting sessions is not only to offer you the best wines on the Bulgarian market, but to lead you towards the large diversity of labels. Our wish is to turn the wine tasting sessions in an experience you would remember for a long time. We will try to find the best suiting wine for every taste. Last, but not least, we have the ambition to turn our meetings in not only tasting, but unforgettable tradition. We will be delighted for you to join our weekly feast!

A team of Bulgarian Wine Society visited Vinaria 2006 . There it has the pleasure to meet Mr. Alexander Velianov and to enjoy the taste of Marananga Shiraz 2002 known in Bulgaria under the trade mark “Two Friends”. This wine is an outcome of the unique friendship between one Bulgarian and one Australian.
